WHAT DO I LEARN?:

The Ultimate Waxing package is two courses in one. You will study both the Waxing Diploma and Hot Waxing Diploma courses.

The Waxing Diploma course gives you the skills to give your clients smooth, hair free legs that lasts much longer than shaving
allowing them to enjoy their beach/pool holiday without the worry about body hair returning.

The Waxing Diploma course will provide you with the ability to apply and remove wax safely and professionally from the entire body including:

• Legs
• Bikini line
• Underarm
• Lip & Chin
• Eyebrows

Hot Waxing was the original type of waxing and for many years was the standard method used. As new techniques developed it's use began to wane but in recent years the techniques and products have been re-developed and it has experienced a resurgence of popularity

Hot Waxing is ideal for working over those coarse stubborn hairs often found on bikini and under am area which warm wax sometimes has a problem removing. When used correctly this technique is much more comfortable for the client and has less skin reaction which makes it ideal for sensitive skin.

The Hot Waxing Diploma course will teach you the application and removal techniques and explain the benefits of working with it compared to warm wax. 

HOW IT WORKS:

Once you have purchased your course you will be granted access to our online education platform where you will find your tutorial videos and eBooks. The courses can be studied via desktops, tablets and mobiles so you can study anytime, any place!

The Ultimate Waxing course is broken into five modules (outlined below). Each module consists of a series of units which consist of a video to watch and a corresponding section of the ebook. At the end of each unit you will find a set of multiple choice questions. Once you complete these with the required mark you will be able to progress onto the next unit. There is no limit to the amount of times you can take the test.

Once all units in a module are completed , it will be marked as complete and the next one will open for you.

Upon completion of all the modules you will be asked to upload evidence of your practical work. Essentially this is before and after photos of your work which will then be reviewed by your tutor who will feedback any areas of improvement where necessary. If all is well they will confirm you have passed the course!

Your Diploma Certificate will then be made available for download via the portal and stored for you.

MODULE 1: FOUNDATION

Unit 1: Personal Standards and Practice

In this unit you will learn the importance of personal standards and what is expected of you as a professional working within the industry.

Unit 2: Hygiene

In this unit you will learn the basic hygiene rules to be followed, how to prevent cross infection and contamination, what sanitisation and sterilisation is and what methods to use as well as contagious skin condition.

Unit 3: Effective Communication with Clients

In this unit you will learn about customer and client care, how to build relationships with clients, how to effectively communicate with clients and deal with client dissatisfaction. We will also cover client consultation which is an important aspect for all professionals.

Unit 4: Business Promotion

In this unit you will be provided with business ideas, how to price treatments as well as how to work within a salon and as a self employed therapist.

Unit 5: Preparation of the Work Area

In this unit you will learn how to create a comfortable and professional work area covering the four basic principles.

Unit 6: Health & Safety Legislations

In this unit you will learn how to take care of all in the workplace as well as the latest health and safety legislations to ensure you are working in compliance and safely.

Unit 7: Insurance

In this unit you will learn the importance of insurance and how to gain it, disposal of waste and data protection act.

Unit 8: Being Effective at Work

In this unit you will learn job roles, responsibilities and working relationships as well as communication, effective teamwork and development within job roles.

Unit 9: Promoting Products & Services

In this unit you will learn the importance of retail sales, positive product promotion and sales techniques.

Unit 10: Retail Specific Legislation

In this unit you will learn all the current legislations specific to retail, product promotion and gaining client feedback.

In this unit you will learn the importance of personal standards and what is expected of you as a professional working within the industry.

Unit 12: Taking Payments and Methods

In this unit you will learn how to deal with different payment methods and taking payments from clients.

MODULE 2: ANATOMY AND PHYSIOLOGY

Unit 1: Hair Structure and Removal

In this unit you will learn the structure of the hair, the hair growth cycle, alternative methods of hair removal and specific health and safety points.

Unit 2: Cells and Tissues

In this unit you will learn about the cells and tissues found in the body.

Unit 3: The Skin

In this unit you will learn the functions of the skin, the epidermis, dermis and mitosis.

Unit 4: The Skeletal System

In this unit you will learn the different types of bones, posture, anatomical terms, as well as the names of the bones.

Unit 5: The Muscular System

In this unit you will learn about muscle tissue as well as the structure of the skeletal muscle.

Unit 6: Blood & The Heart

In this unit you will learn the functions of the blood, how the heart works, systemic circulation, blood pressure and the pulse.

Unit 7: The Lymphatic System

In this unit you will learn what lymph is, how it is formed and the connection between the blood and lymph, lymph nodes, lymph vessels and lymph capillaries.

Unit 8: The Systems

In this unit you will learn about the central nervous system, neurones, the respiratory system as well as other systems found within the body.

Unit 9: Anatomy of the Eye

In this unit you will learn the structure and form of the eye as well as specific eye contra-indications.

MODULE 3: SKIN HEALTHCARE

Unit 1: Skin Types

In this unit you will learn the different skin types, about ethnic skin types as well as disorders of pigmentation.

Unit 2: Skin Diseases/Disorders

In this unit you will learn the different skin diseases and disorders

MODULE 4: WAXING

Unit 1: What is Waxing?

In this unit you will learn the history of waxing and benefits of waxing, when to begin waxing and the different types of wax available. The unit finishes with alternative methods of hair removal.

Unit 2: Preparation & Client

In this unit you will learn specific contra-indications to waxing, possible contra-actions and client consultation/preparation.

Unit 3: Equipment & Products

In this unit you will learn the equipment and products required for waxing along with information on their safe use, treatment areas and industry times/prices followed by aftercare advise.

Unit 4: Waxing Procedure

In this unit you will learn how to prepare and setup the working area as well as the correct treatment procedure.

MODULE 5: HOT WAXING

Unit 1: Introduction

In this unit you will learn what hot waxing is and how to use it.

Unit 2: Preparation

In this unit you will learn how to correctly prepare for a hot wax treatment.

Unit 3: Equipment & Products

In this unit you will learn what products and equipment are required to complete a hot wax treatment.

Unit 4: Waxing Procedure

In this unit you will learn the correct procedure for carrying out a hot wax treatment.

Unit 5: Aftercare

In this unit you will learn the correct aftercare advise to provide to your clients.
